Allure 2007 Cummins ISL400 Leak from preheat port

Hello All,

We have a coolant leak from the brass fitting that is clamped to the block with a forked type clamp. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does anyone know what type of a gasket or O-ring is used to reseal this fitting to the block. It does not screw in, it slides into the block and is held in with this clamp.

Just a note that all the Country Coaches were fitted with the wrong rubber hoses for the coolant lines. Instead of using the premium Gates anti-Freeze coolant hose, they used fuel line material and they melt away from the coolant and start at the fittings. I replaced about 22ft of hose after they failed and blew all over the engine. Another place they saved a buck!!

HI Brian,

I'm curious to know more about what hoses are affected, and where I should be looking for problems with these hoses. Are they radiator hoses that are about 3" or the heater hoses that travel up to the front of the coach? Thanks,
Mike

Brian, are you referring to the small 3/8" lines that all go to the coolant recovery tank? If so yes, mine appeared to be similar to fuel lines and one was started to break down near one of the clamps. I replaced about 30' of that small line with premium silicone hoses and special clamps.

All the other coolant lines (the larger hoses) appear to be appropriate hoses for the purpose and seem to be fine.

They are all the hoses that go to the radiator and overflow canister and to the engine. On my coach they measured about 20 feet total if I recall they are three quarter inch Heater hose they can be had at any Automotive Parts house that sells Gates heater hose

Brian, I assume that when you say "all the Country Coaches...." you mean yours. A sample of one. Both of the CCs I have owned have had the proper coolant hoses. For example my current 2003 Magna still has the nice green rubber coolant hoses with which it came from the factory. It also has the original Koni SP1 shocks which continue to provide proper control of the coach.

Good luck with your coach.
