Gennerator start button on SilverLeaf

Yahoo Message Number: 104878
I can start my generator by hitting the start button on SilverLeaf, but I cannot stop it from there. I have to go back to bedroom and hit generator stop button there to stop it. Has anybody seen this before?

Yes Greg, in my case the SilverLeaf just needs a reset.

There are a couple of ways to do it. First try turning off the house circuits at the door for 30 seconds then flip back on. If you are on propane for the frig, your get the alarm so flip that off under the frig until it stop chirping then back on. Then try the genset start/stop circuits. If that fails, start/stop the genset with the switch on the genset. The last option is to pull the circuit main plug in the SilverLeaf unit for at least 30 seconds. It's located in one of your bays (that's where it is in mine anyway).

I'm still learning about my coach. I have silver leaf as well, and had a similar issue. I found out that for me it was an operator issue.

I had to turn the screen brightness up as high as possible to see it, but in the upper right hand corner of the display it will indicate run and off if you rotate the knob left and right and select one or the other, then depress the knob it can be started and shut off at the silver leaf council. Their is no click or detent feeling when you turn it left and right, only the display indicates a change. In bright light it is hard to see, hence making the screen as bright as possible to start.

Good luck.

John, you're correct. I hadn't considered awareness of the 'start/stop' toggle. Hey, I read the owners manual back in 2008 when I bought the coach, so never gave it a thought. I recommend everyone read it to appreciate the full capability of the SilverLeaf. You should be able to download it from the SilverLeaf site.

I had to way back when. My genset was going off/on at weird times. Eric Olstrom found the problem, a loose electrical connection inside the genset metal casing due to poor installation at the factory.

Nevertheless, my suggestions can come in handy if your SilverLeaf experiences a fault. Looks for a red light on the rear hall module.

When I said SilverLeaf, I meant the monitor ( for the house) located in hallway, not the monitor in the dash with the knob. I thought the monitor in the dash was more for engine monitoring, but I do see there is a gen start/stop function with the knob (last page of manual). My problem is the gen button on hallway monitor not turning off gen, but perhaps toggling it on/off from both what Lee said and John said may reset the hallway monitor. The coach is in the chassis shop having all of the fluids changed now, but when I get in back later this week I will do as you both suggest and report back. Thank you for the suggestions. I have learned so much about my coach from reading this forum. Very knowledgeable, helpful people here.
