All,
Pointers please
We are not overly blessed on this side of the pond (in the UK) with support / service for RVs.
I am in the process of dismantling / rebuilding a number of our double glazed window units which have failed / 'misted'
I have removed the windows and dismantled the glass from the frames - I am hopeful that a local double glazing manufacturer can split, clean, wash and rebuild the units for me using new desiccant spacer bar
If the units are beyond rebuild he will make new units using the existing unit as a pattern - the units are mirrored as well as tinted to further complicate things
Because Europe and the UK are now predominantly metric in everything we do - our glass sizes (thickness) is slightly different to your imperial sizes
This could be a problem - and I am hoping to be prepared
Now that SEGI windows are no longer with us - does anyone know from where I might be able to source the necessary bits of 'rubber' / draught excluder / perforated water channelling that are used in the construction of the window frame / units ??
I have a copy of the Laurence Glass brochure - we fortunately have their European headquarters in the UK - but it does not appear to show the requisite pieces
How have others coped - did you just reuse existing?
(I hope to reuse - the 'rubbers' are currently being cleaned to await rubber treatment before being reused but the draught excluders have seen better days) - but in case of perished rubbers will need to replace
Ideas or solutions please
