Over-the-air TV

I cannot get my TV to work on antenna, and I suspect it is too old for the digital over-the-air signal nowadays... I am not ready to replace my Sharp Aquos TV's yet, so would consider an analog to digital "set top box" to get a signal. Where would be the best place to put it in my coach? I would think near the cable selector box (antenna cable in), but not sure if there is enough room in there. The TracStar is in there, so I could get power from it. Have any of you guys tackled this before? It would be nice to get local channels sometimes...

we have an Allure so can't specifically say where to mount but we mounted the digital box with velcro under the cabinet over the passenger seat and drilled a hole (hidden behind the valance) underneath the cabinet where the Winegard box is located and ran the wires up through. There is an outlet behind the passenger seat.

Greg,

I have a year old newer MH than you and I now receive over the air signals. What I found out what I was doing wrong was Stopping the search before it got to the digital search. I was stopping it when I saw that it did not find any analog stations.

Just letting you know what I was doing wrong.

If you can, mount it next to the vidio selector box, but remember you will need a clear line of site for your remote since your channel selection will be made on the converter box. Have mine done this way and it works great. Just have another remote to keep op with.

I got it working! Thank you Dave for keeping me looking... I found that the Sharp AQUOS main TV in living area has both an analog and digital tuner. Using the proper Sharp remote ( they were mixed up), using "TV Guide" button, one can go all the way back to initial setup, set zip code and specify Digital Air. The smaller bedroom and Bay TV's do not have this button on their remotes, only EZ setup, so they must not be digital air tuners. That's ok, 99% of time I use cable or satellite, but it is nice to have one TV get over the air digital channels. Thanks to the forum!

Greg,

No problem...I would keep looking on the TV's for something.. they have to have some type of Setup function somewhere. I as you.. do not use the Bedroom Tv much and I know that if I'm using the TV there to watch something over the air..I must set it up as the front tv but it is different.
