Zip Dee Replacement Fabric New Supplier!

Yahoo Message Number: 105313
To All with Zip Dee's: After getting a truly outrageous quote from Zip Dee for replacement fabric, I have, for some time now, been working with Stone Vos | RV Awnings &: Slide Toppers The Nation's Leader Stone Vos one of the top awning replacement fabric suppliers in the country, located in Florida. This company does very high quality work and uses Sattler fabric from Austria, which is of a higher quality (and bit heavier) than Sunbrella. I have been a test bed (it is technically far more complicated than you might think!) and we should be done in a few weeks allowing Stone Vos to take orders. You will get higher quality at a lower price than Zip Dee. Contact them if interested. You will have to wait a little while until they are fully up and running but it may be worth the wait.

I have had 3 coaches with Zip Dees and one with Carefree and A&E, and for my money you can have the Care Free and A&E any day of the week. They are inferior awnings. I have seen Girards, too and no- one stitches awning s like Zip Dee. They may not use the absolutely best fabric, but the way they cut and stitch their awnings is superior, I met the Gal who sews most of the awnings when you visit the fabric for repairs and she is a real talent, from the old world. They recovered my law chairs, and I had one pair from my 83 Airstream that was different from the current units. She had no problem remembering the dimensions of the previous chairs when the other shop guys were scatting their heads and trying to calculate the correct dimensions. They added two new awnings to the coach in nothing flat and replaced all the straps on the existing awnings, too in less than 4 hours. They took off one of the topper window awnings and stitched a new awning fabric under warranty in that period, too. They are great people and if any one gets a chance you should visit the factory. They automatically inspect the awnings set tensions if required, replace any parts that need to be replaced. They even corrected some mounting mistakes CC made when replacing the Carefree and A&E window topper awnings. Compared to the people from Carefree and A&E, Zip Dee our true professionals while the other factory's people were amateurs. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731.

I wonder if its the tire, but both my front Continentals and now the Michelins seem to have a flat spot in cool weather when you first start out. But after the tires warm up, they both seem to be fine. The continental got over the issue after about 500 miles. It will be interesting to see how the XZA2 perform. The other day it was 38 degrees in the morning when we started out with the tires reading 106 PSI. But by the time the temp of the tires got up to 70 degrees the tires were reading 120 lbs and everything was smooth as glass. Driving at 70 mph with the typical spring tail winds the tire pressure went up to 128 lbs, or about 6 lbs lower than the previous Michelin XZ2, Toyo 12R and Continental 315 front pressure of 134 to 136 Lbs psi. Thomas, I fully agree with you about Zip Dee quality vs. Carefree and A&E. As far the excellent stitching ZD does, you are right, but Stonevos stitching is excellent, Chris is a stickler. Of course, time will tell how well it holds up. The Sattler fabric is way nicer than Sunbrella.
