Creative solutions on Water Softener locations?

Yahoo Message Number: 105358
Ok you fellow CC owners. Those of you with brilliant minds, and endless creativity:)!

Looking for options on where to semi permanently install a Water Softener in our coaches?

We have an 04 40' Allure. With zero wet basement room. Our half bay basement to the front of it, seems like a viable place to install our On The Go, double size, softener. Drilling a few hose size holes at the top of the bulkhead between this basement and the wet/plumbing basement seem relatively easy to accomplish(?). Running some good quality hoses, with enough 'slack' in the half bay basement to allow lifting out the On The Go for required recharging would be the idea. (We've just started using this, bought it off of Craigslist, replaced the resin, and still seeing how long the two of us can go between recharges (In 'Non Boon Docking Mode':)!), thinking 7-9 days with the double sized unit, maybe 12-15 - all depending upon hardness of he water.)

The downside of using a few feet of this half bay basement, is it is where we currently have small plastic drawer cabinets to hold our plumbing and stinky slinky gear. So that would mean a 'bump and roll' of that gear.

Enough, those were my thoughts. But was wondering what others have done to avoid needing to pull out and set out by the hose bib, or coach, a water softener?

Appreciate any tips!

Best to all, be safe, have fun,

Smitty
