Advice air bags las vegas ?

Not sure if I blew a air bag or what. But the drivers side of our coach is a good 6" lower then the passenger side. Tried to manual level with no luck. We were driving on a back county road with lots of pot holes. We are stuck in searchlight nevada, 50 miles south of las vegas. I have coach net, they are going to call in the morning wanting to tow the coach in to vegas. Is this the correct way to go, or is this something a mobile repair person can fix? We are in a safe place and not in a hurry?

Not sure what type of RV mobile service you would get in Searchlight. I think your odds would be better in Las Vegas. Here are some options.

Apache RV Service

he specializes in remodels but might be able to work you in. Call him first as he was booked up for 2 weeks when we were there. He installed a new air conditioner for us. If he can't fix it he should be able to recommend a shop that does suspension work.

We have also used Cummins in Las Vegas and were pleased with their work. They replaced air bags on our coach in FL.

The issue is most likely at the driver's side rear. Most likely the ride height rod that goes between the frame and ride height valve has come loose. The ride height valve may have failed as well. This can easily be fixed by a mobile Tech.

BRC Coach & Transit replaced an airbag, ride height valve and repaired other damage from a blow out. Not familiar with HWH. Premier in Tucson is, though.

If you blew an airbag you would be loosing considerable air pressure, if it is out of level the guide rod probably dislodged..

Just a up date on our leveling problem. Seems the rod that controls the ride height value just fell off. Coach net sent out a low boy flat bed truck. The pulled by chain our 40', 48,000 pound coach onto the truck. This took about a hour, another 30 minutes to chain it all down. Our total height, coach 12'10", truck 36" put us at 15'10". The freeway under passes were listed at 16'. Following the load on the freeway, wow, it was very close but all was good. Tony Ford (thanks Tony) had connections at Findlay RV in Las Vegas where they were waiting for us, found the problem and repaired it within 24 hours. Part was $40, labor was just under $300.

Thanks to all that gave great advice. Great group.

Mike, I can't imagine how they put your coach on the truck. The front suspension is not supposed to be grappled anywhere. Only wheel lifts are acceptable, and since there are no tow hooks on the frame, I don't know how they would have attached to the frame. So, how did they attach to the coach to pull it onto the truck?

It was a amazing truck, the axels pulled forward out from under the bed and the whole bed lowered within about 3" of the ground. Using boards, I really more of drove it up on the truck. 1" at a time. Coach is fixed, but still at shop, having new shocks put on and a few unrelated fixs while there. Guess next question is driving it? I also drove it off the truck, same inch at a time....mike

Wow, I like the concept over conventional towing where you have to disconnect the drive shaft, hook up air, wonder if your mud flap is going to be damaged, and hook up lights. With this method you only have to worry whether or not your air conditioners are going to be removed by a RR trestle.

Would love to see a pic of the truck or know the manufacturer.

George, don't know how to move pictures around. I do have a number of them on my phone. Send me a text and I will text you some pictures. The truck was built to move buses after break down. Not sure if I have any with the axles pulled up, I was driving the coach holding on tight, must of had at least 1/2" to spare on each side. One smart guy that figured out this system ....mike

The trailer is made by Landoll, they are used to move construction equipment a lot. Google Landoll and you can see some good examples.

Yes, the bus hauler model is something. However, what do they do if your engine is down?

With the engine down you would have to winch it on, but how? We can't grab anywhere on the independent suspension, and we have no frame hooks. Also we have a lot of fiberglass reaching pretty low on the front cap, and the Landol bus hauler has a 5 degree slope. I love the concept of towing this way, but I would say if you can't drive on it you can't use it.

When mine was winched on, it was done from the rear. Once on the trailer, the coach air was dumped, tied down and driven 50 miles thru the mountains to the Medford Cat Dealer. It went on easily with no damage.

Yes, I see that is the way you would have to winch one of our coaches, and the same to get on the flat bed trailer. Would much prefer to be transported on one of those flatbeds if needed, but I imagine they are pretty scarce around the country.

Dead engine? Tow operators are pretty creative, perhaps they would drag the tow cable all the way underneath and attach it to the rear receiver hitch. That would make a sturdy point to pull from.
