Slide out slips out

Getting ready to go on a trip, and the bedroom slide keeps slipping out... I suspect it is the HWH solenoid valve. Do you guys just order them from HWH? Do you guys recommend doing all 4 of the solenoids? Is it a good idea to change the HWH hydraulic fluid as well if I am doing all 4 solenoids? I would hate to have this happen to another slide out on a trip, easier to deal with it in my garage...

I was told to change them in pairs when I had an issue with the kitchen slide. Of course after failing to work a half dozen moves, it started working again, but had Eric's guys change the pair of valves to be safe. Traveling the back roads is not very comforting with your slide sticking out 2 inches. My previous Allure had a similar issue show up after being delivered on my first trip. Fortunately, Buddy Gregg, fixed that and the AC transfer switch in a couple of hours. But they had no luck with the ice maker and had to wait to return home for replacement.

To the folks talking about older coaches, my 98 Allure was very trouble free. I spent $80.00 on repairs in 6 years. Of course I didn't count tires, windshield wiper blades and batteries. The one issue that would have to be handled was the gel coat, as the coach didn't have a full body paint job, and after 6 years in the southwest with very strong sun rays, I was to be soon looking forward to a $10,000 paint job. I used that money as part of the down payment on the 2004 Intrigue we drive now, with full body paint. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731, 98 Allure 30255

This doesn't really answer your question but I had the same problem occur on my way to Alaska in 2013. I noticed my rear slide out had extended about 6 inches while driving in remote North Dakota. I stopped and moved it in. I then continued about 5 miles while observing it and noted it creep out about 2 inches, so stopped again and retracted it. I don't recall but I may have had to do it a third time. I have had no more issues with a slide out creeping in the last 15,000 miles.

I am sure the problem was a stuck check valve which fixed itself. The reason I am posting this is to suggest that a possible solution may be to let it fix itself. Drive the RV while closely observing the slide and see if the problem goes away.

I was outside the coach, saw it out about 4" when I stopped, pulled it in again and about an hour later it slipped back out again. It has done this a few time now. I have tried cycling it in/out, but to no avail. I am sure it is the solenoid check valve. I am just trying to decide whether to replace it myself or have the shop do it. They are backed up 3 weeks...Jeeeez RV repair shops -- what a business!

The process is not that difficult if the sun is shinning, but if you are like me and there is a cloud in the sky. I'm in trouble. I have seen the process happen a couple of times over the years, its not that difficult, but I would leave it to the professionals. There are just a few things that could go wrong. When that happens you are in trouble! TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731
