Stop Engine Light

The stop engine light comes on intermittently. Today cruising on I95 at 62MPH as soon as I averaged on a slight grade the light would come on for a short time then off. Temp Oil pressure speed all OK Can make light. Come on by applying full pedal.
Trans fluid full. Filters changed about 2500 miles ago.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Check your coolant level in your surge tank while the engine is at operating temperature and see if it is in the sight glass. It sounds like you are down on coolant, and when you go up hill or accelerate the sensor in the surge tank is not covered in coolant. Wait until the engine is cold and fill the surge tank. Start with simple first.

Had that problem early spring. Changed FUEL filters !!! Showed signs of sludge buildup. Fuel develops bacteria that can clog filters and starve engine.

I had that issue with my 98 Allure way back when, 2002 I think. When I reached the Cummins shop in Amarillo and they checked things according to the computer it was one of the heat pressure sensors. Which they replaced. Once I got back to El Paso, via Houston, it had started leaking so they installed a new copper washer. By the time I got back to Colorado all was OK until! Driving thru Albuquerque, on the way home, the yellow warning light came on after what you have been experiencing with the flashing red light when driving above 63 MPH or climbing a grade. I was south of town and turned back toward the Cummins Shop. I got with in 6 blocks and she quit in the middle of an intersection. Following the factories recommendation the shop replaced the accumulator section of the pump, then the distributor section, finally the replaced the entire pump. I was still under warranty and because of the previous repairs in Amarillo and ElPaso, they paid the towing bill. $360.00 for six blocks. I have forgotten the final cost, but if they had just pulled the entire injection pump and replaced the whole thing, the cost would have been half of them taking the pump on and off multiple times replacing one section and then the next as recommended by the factory. OH! There were some programs on that engine where some piping connected to the pump should have been replaced and there has been a history of the fuel lines from and around the fuel filters feeding the pump have been compromised, and any of these other issues could cause the your symptom. It might be caused by your filters being partially clogged. I am just saying if you have to go to Cummins and they start telling you it might be this section of the pump or the other replace the entire unit. Good Luck. I would go with the fuel filters first. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731/98 Allure 30255. Question, How's your Oil Pressure? Because if it is low it could mean the accumulator section of the pump is failing. Been thru that one, too.

The filter was filthy. Surprised it ran at all. I wonder if it is the bio blend fuel I got down south.
I will add fuel supplicant from now on. Thanks Larry
