Have any of you had experience with driving 190 from Rhyolite, NV to 395 in CA? We have a 36' motor home and are towing our car on a tow dolly. We will then be driving 395N, to Oregon.

Approximate dates will be the 6th or 7th of May.

found this on another forum. (We took US95 and cut over to I-80 to Reno).

"Just north of Bishop there is a climb: Sherwin Grade from Bishop is 6% for 8 miles. You will climb to 8,000' + going over Deadman and then Conway Summits. Devil's Gate north of Bridgeport is another climb. None are that big of a big deal in modern equipment. Be careful on the downhills.
There is plenty of room at Glass Creek for your outfit."

I have driven the section from Reno to the Oregon border at least 5 times. This is an easy drive. There is a RV resort and golf course in Likely, CA. about 15 miles south of Altruas, CA. where 395 and 299 split. Great overnight stop especially if you play golf. Need to check and see if the course is open. It is off the highway and very quite.
