Re: Swim system from Directv Reply #51 – May 11, 2016, 07:38:04 pm Yahoo Message Number: 106056I travel for as long as one year at a time and have Hd directv at home (Swim System) for my Kids who live at home. I then pay for 2 more HD receivers (not Swim) which are HR24 HD receivers I put in the Coach. In other words it is the cheapest way to. Would love to have the SWIM system in the Coach, however Directv doesn't allow for 2 SWIM systems. What I have works OK. Don't want to get carried away with goobldegosh, but am open to a simple way to add the SWIM system to my Coach. Brian H Morrowbhmmorrow@... 949-677-2221 Quote Selected
Re: Swim system from Directv Reply #52 – May 11, 2016, 08:58:50 pm Yahoo Message Number: 106059Brian, Below is a very easy way to convert your existing system to SWM:All you need to convert your existing system to SWM is what's included in the link below. Also you will need a power inserter. Included a link for that also. And another link to how it's wired (Ignore everything except the blue and green lines). Easily done by a DIY'r. A plus to this is you will be receiving all 5 DTV satellite instead of the normal 3 that SWM uses. Might come in handy some day. This will work with your HR-24's and the Genie. http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=SWM-16http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?mc=02&p=PI-29Zhttp://manuals.solidsignal.com/SWM-16-Install-LR.pdf Quote Selected

Re: Swim system from Directv Reply #55 – May 12, 2016, 01:30:02 am Yahoo Message Number: 106068Daniel,Glad to find someone who has used both DirecTV's SWM and Genie. At home we are configured with 2 DirecTV DVRs and two regular receivers (all HD). We are pleased with the system's performance (fast forward, pause, reverse, etc) when watching a recorded show using the DVR connected to the TV we are watching. But (via SWM) when we access a recorded show on the other DVR in the home from the same TV, fast forward, pause, reverse, etc are all sluggish when skipping over the commercials (because, I presume, one DVR has to "talk" to the second DVR to position the recording and get the picture back to the first DVR and on to the TV).How is the technology different with Genie? Is there any performance difference in skipping forward, backward, etc at a TV connected to a Genie box (which has to access the programs on the first, usually only, DVR) vs at the main TV connected directly to that DVR?HerbForum Moderator Quote Selected
