Coach body shifts while parked

When someone is walking in the kitchen and I am laying in bed I feel the coach shift/rock. Is this normal? It has been leveled using the HWH. Country Coach Allure 2004. sqdncr@...

If your Allure has the HWH air leveling only (no jacks), you will feel some coach movement when people are moving around in the coach. We don't get a lot of movement but there is a bit. Our previous DP had hydraulic leveling jacks and while it was a bit more solid when leveled, you could still feel some wiggle at times.

The wiggle is worse in a spot that requires taller airbags to level.

Replacing your shocks and using a higher setting will help. Also make sure the pressure in the air system is above 110 lbs . CC had an option to install two hydraulic jacks for Affinities to stop the shifting from side to side. So they were aware of the issue. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

Best thing to do is block up level and dump the air, no more wiggle and no more leveling.

With the newer hydraulic leveling it still moves. To keep people from breaking windshields and other stuff the front jacks are tied together and move fluid between them to keep the coach square. My old coach had 4 independent jacks and when they were set it was like it was set on a foundation.

Lightest weight, most compact and efficient way to level and stabilize a coach, but some movement is expected. Think of it as a sea cruise on a small boat!

If you talk to any mobile rv repair shop many will tell you on emergency road calls the top two items for call outs are leveling jacks and slide outs. These are Motor Homes on wheels you are going to get a little movement or a little wiggle. There are ways to stabilize jack up and block front rear and middle. There you go stable, but easy to move no . I lived in a 22 K lb. fifth wheel in Amarillo Texas, a few years back actually West of town I smile a little when this MH wiggles a little remembering how that fifth wheel would rock back and forth in that West Texas wind with front jacks and front and rear stabilizers tight.

When traveling out west during the windy Spring always try to park one end of the coach -in the direction of the prevailing wind. The worst storm I experienced was in Stafford, Arizona. Fortunately the lady who checked us in gave us a spot facing into the wind. Even with the stabilizing jacks and the Airstream TT still connected it was rock and roll until after midnight. The wind was so strong in Boise one time I had to pull the slide rooms in to protect the awnings from the + 50 mph winds. We think we have strong winds in West Texas and southern New Mexico, but none compare to the winds near Boulder Colorado in the Spring. Never leave a main patio awning out un attended when in the West and Southwest. And make sure you check the weather forecast when traveling in and out of San Diego on I-8. I have never traveld that road where either didn't see an awning on the side of the road or a coach pulled off on the side of the road. I have holes punched so I can use two cable ties, tire wraps, for each Zip dee Awning that don't have latches on the slide rooms. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731
