Electric Blanket(s)?

We have Xantrex RV3012 MSW inverter and the electric blankets we've tried don't work. Does any one know of one that will?

This is the problem with modified sine wave inverters. Many of the electronic components will not work because cheaper electronic components demand pure sine wave and more than likely an electric blanket is one of these items. I'm just curious are you trying to use the inverter as a standalone working off batteries? The electric blanket should work fine when plugged into Shore power, I'm also not sure why you would want to use an electric blanket off your batteries dry camping.

Yes the blankets work fine when on shore power but if the power goes off and/or we move and don't unplug it the MSW kills it.

We have a electric mattress pad from Above & Beyond Bed it is a Perfect Fit. It works fine on our Xantrex modified square wave inverter. They had other choices also. Phone number 888-497-4489

Perfect Fit also makes electric blankets. Their Soft Heat Low Voltage electric blanket works on a MSW inverter.

Electric blankets use very little electricity and can actually be a good choice for dry camping. Even if it is so cold you need to run it overnight, it will probably be on the very lowest setting.
