C 9 High oil pressure

I have a C-9 2005 motor in a 2006 CC and has any one had oil pressure that has pegged the dash gauge at 100lbs psi on a cold start. Looking at my Silverleaf at cold start the pressure is 127lbs so I use the block heater for about 2hrs to get the pressure under 100 on a cool day. After it warms up going down the road it runs 45-48psi at 1600rpm and idles 25-30psi.
So my question is has anyone replace the oil pump to solve this problem. I have had this problem as long as I have had the coach.

I suspect the oil pressure regulator has a piece of trash in it preventing it from opening when cold. If the oil pressure is going that high at idle it is definitely an issue that needs to be tended to. Now that being said, I assume you are using 15W-40 oil with no additives, is that correct?

But if the outside temperature is freezing or below, meaning the oil is cold, the oil pressure will be high due to the high viscosity of the oil. It is difficult to get the oil to move especially through the filter.

Which is why most filter mounts have a hi pressure bypass, also in case filter becomes plugged you don't want to starve the engine or blow up the filter.

Well to answer some of the question.
I live in Oregon, it can be 60deg out and I have the same oil pressure without heat.
I use Mobil Dalvac 1300 15w40

This has been an on going problem for the almost 4 years that we have had the coach.
One of the guys on IRV2 had the same problem, when he took his in for a valve adj. they turned off the motor and gave he a call. His was around 125psi and the mechanic said the max oil pressure should be 86psi cold.
I called Peterson Cat and the oil pump repairs runs around $1000 to $1200.

My C9's oil pressure on startup is 100+, depending on ambient, 40 at temp and 20+ at idle.

Since you are familiar with Peterson, call Andy Mayfield in Eugene, tel 541-302 9199, he was the CAT rep for CC, currently the supervisor of the Eugene Facility. He is my go to guy.
If he is not available talk to to Jake Smith, ex CC. Both guys are straight shooters and will solve your issue, if you have one.

Will do, it may be after Christmas before I can get it fixed but I will post what Andy has to say.
I also have a oil pressure sender that reads the ECM that went bad because the pressure is all over the place on my Silverleaf. One minute going down the road it reads 65psi then 89psi then if I stop at a light it reads 0 and the light on the dash light up like a Christmas Tree but the dash oil pressure gauge reads 30psi then up to 45 going down the road.

Just read your other post. Your are aware that there are 2 oil sending units on the C9, 1 that CAT put on the engine and 1 that CC put on the engine? I had the problem where the gauges and VMSpc were reading different oil pressure readings and finally the engine shut down due to low oil pressure. Turned out the CAT oil sender failed, while the CC sender was reading the proper pressure. If I recall correctly the VMSpc reads off The CAT sender, Check the gauge pressure vs the SilverLeaf pressure.

I think you have a bad sender.
