TV electrical problem

Dear CC owners,

Ghosts and goblins have attacked my TV. The power to the TV intermittently cuts in and out multiple times, whether or not I'm on shore power or inverter. This does not happen in any consistent pattern. You can see and hear this happening at the power button on the TV. Does anyone know where the a/c power to the TV originates? And where do I start trouble shooting this problem? The TV is a flat screen Panasonic HDTV Viera installed at birth. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael: I had the same problem. The TV has an automatic shut down component so if it gets too hot it will automatically turn off and that component is going bad and shutting off and on at odd times. You need to get a new TV. The electrical plug is just behind the right side of the TV. To get at that plug, go into the cabinet to the right of the TV and remove the left panel. When I replaced my TV I mounted it on a nicely finished cherry wood board and spaced it 1/2 inch off the wood on the outside of the cabinet so air can circulate behind the TV. I now use the space behind the TV for additional storage. I put in a Samsung 48" 4K 8000 series, but for an even better picture look at a Sony.

If it's the front TV the power is sometimes routed thru a switch that won't allow power while riding down the road. You need to take the panels off the small cabinet on the left side of the TV to gain access to the front area above the windshield. Look for the plug and try plugging into another power source to test.

My TV was doing the same thing. Small cabinet above driver had the electrical outlet for the tv. Guess after all these years it worked its self loose. I removed the switch that does not allow the tv to operate while the coach is moving. Used the extra plug to power a sound bar.
