Roof A/C

Yahoo Message Number: 112138
Hi All

Having a bit of trouble with my front roof a/c. It will start up fine runs about 15 to 30 seconds and then stops. Continues over and over again. I recall a previous post, but could not find, indicating it was probably a problem with the thermostat. I also recall they are no longer available. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Safe travels to all.

Two things I think could be a problem.

Fluorsent Bassalt causing interference.

Trying to set thermostat more than 4 degrees at a time.

Wally..........Tried to decipher 'bassalt'.

Finally concluded that you meant 'ballast'.

Thanks, the DW was not here to help me with my spelling. And the spell checker failed me. Amazing what dropping 2 "S"s and replacing with a "L"s will do.

My bedroom AC unit was doing the same thing. It was set at AUTO. I switched to LOW and the problem ceased. My coach is also an 07, we may have the same model AC units.

Need a little more information. Are both the fan and compressor running. If so are they both shutting down at the same time? If you suspect the thermostat ( which I would not suspect first) you can always jumper the control wires and see if it continues to run but I would probably start with the run capacitor
