Hi Richard, do you still have your Panasonic unit?

What did you replace it with.

I replaced my Panasonic with a Pioneer AVH 7500 with DVD player about 5 years ago. There is a blue tooth model available also. I chose not to have blue tooth since I use an ear piece for my phone when I travel. I assume there are newer models in the Pioneer line similar to what I have..

My suggestion is to go to stores and check out the displays while wearing sun glasses. I found that some of the screens darkened considerably when I wore my polarized sun glasses. At the time I thought the Panasonic had the better screen.

Note the installation instructions and don't hook your dash speakers up to the RCA jacks on the radio. Those jacks are for amplified speakers.

If you have the Panasonic with the gps system you will have lots of stuff under the dash you won't need.

Still have it. Haven't replaced it yet. There's a JVC unit which is much better that has been mentioned here if you do a search.

I did a search. My memory was bad it's a Kenwood not a JVC. Kevin Waite uses the KVT-7012BT. He has them or I can get them for you.

We're still nursing our Pioneer AVH P6400CD unit along. (The 10 MultiDisc makes mechanical noise, but no longer shuffles the CD's, and worst - will not eject, and we've 10 CD's buried inside (For now!)).

One of the key things holding me back from making a change to the 6400, is we don't want to lose the free Sirius we have. (I believe it left CC with a lifetime subscription? Or, somehow it's fallen thru the cracks, as 9 years of usage on our part, zero costs.... And that's a good bottle or two of vino a month, if I have to actually buy a subscription!).

I've had some people say yes they can find a replacement Pioneer that will work with our Sirius unit, and others that say 'nope' - new stuff is not compatible with the older stuff. And when I press the few that have said they can swap it out for specifics on which units to choose from - well, they seem to not get back with me:)!

We're in Oregon for several months this year, and I'm going to have Advanced Satellite out of Junction City help me with some other electronic refinement. I've asked them to please research a bit more for me on this, so if I get lucky, I'll post an update. (Will be a few months before we do anything, but I've started to ask around again.)

We have BluTooth feed to our Marantz/Oppo components, and stream Pandora or Spotify while traveling for most of our music. (We have both of our phones loaded up with lots of Off Line downloads, so works well when out of coverage range.) Whoever is in Shotgun position, controls the music and volume via our phone apps, so that's been working out well. (We have all, BUT 10, of our CD's ripped to a Hard Drive NAS which is CAT5 connected to the Oppo for the majority of our serious listening music. (The Oppo BDP-95, has dual DAC's. 1) For Surround Sound (Which we removed from our coach, for now.); 2) Dedicated HiFi, which is what we listen to. For a combo CD/DVD/BlueRay Disc and DAC all in one unit - the BDP-95 in our system has become a pretty neat Swiss Army Knife component. (Looked into upgrading to the BDP-105, which is another level above - and frankly at it's new and now used price point - an overachiever for sure. But the Hifi Audio was and DAC's were path wise very similar to the BDP-95. A better power supply division within the unit, as well as better chips for the video format. But on a 40" TV, it's all overkill. (I have the BDP105 Darby in our home setup, and it was a nice refinement above the BDP-83 it replaced.)

====

And yeah, I went on again:)! I continue to read threads on replacing the p6400 unit, as sooner or later it will need to be replaced. And if it were not for the thrifty guard of my wallet from not wanting to lose the free Sirius, which we do listen too a few delays and concerts and sports, etc. - I'd have done so by now!

Anyone every find a replacement unit that works with the Sirius/XM side module of this system - please share what it was:)!

Best to all, may the sound be with you (Got Tubes?),

Well, you bring a important point too me.. Back in 2012 when we bought the coach, we changed out the radio. I have realized that I probably had Sirius on the old radio, is there any way to get it back? I would need to purchase a module for the new radio and have wondered what that little antenna is for. Just looking for a little AM inside the coach.

Walter - Our's has a Satellite Radio component module, that the antenna feeds into. As I recall (And I researched this a good 7 years ago, so foggy:)!), that component module plugs into the back of the 6400 to feed the Sirius signal. So, if they did not unbury that module (Ours was up behind the cabinets to the left in the cap area.), it may still be available to you. And also thru the foggy memory, I believe the identification involved with Sirius, is assigned in that module(?), I don't believe it's the 6400 head unit(?). (The (?)'s - is because I recall that is how it was explained to me, but never confirmed this to be the case...).

But heck, if I hit the lotto, won't worry about it:)!

Jon, just now getting around to catching up on the messages.

I gave the old unit away a long time ago. The replacement I have is this one. I had to engineer a mounting bracket to mount the camera. I think I used the existing wiring and cut off old ends and spliced in the new ones.
