2004 Allure Universal Remote

Yahoo Message Number: 8514
I have a 2004 Allure on which I have the Unicersal remote. The product material that comes with the setup describes a smaller, simpler companion remote that comes with it. I did not get that companion remote. Can others please tell me if they got the this second remote with their Universal? Thanks

I DID receive a "universal" remote with mine, but frankly have not paid any attention to it!!! There are at least four or five other remote control gizmos to master before I tackle the Grand Daddy!! If you wish, when I visit my coach in storage tommorrow, I'll look up the info on it ..... that is, if my house batteries haven't run down!

George,

I did receive the smaller, campanion universal remote. I was told it was to use on a second TV. I would like the universal remote(s) better if Cal had been able to program the remotes for use with Directv and Motosat. He told me it was too complicated for him to program them. I have not tried to contact the makers of the universal remotes to see if it can be done.

Thanks Joe. Don't invest much time on your search. I can get the answer from CC but thought someone on the board might know right off hand.

I hope your batteries are not flat. The only thing that saves mine is the RC7GS. My storage spot is in the open without power. I have the gen come on at 50% of full and suhut off at 95% of full.
Probably a couple of solar panels would be a big help for me.

Thanks Rick. I guess I need to find out where mine is. I understood it to be a simpler version or the larger unit. I thought that it would control all the devices the larger one will but without some of the functions.

I believe that the large unit is programmed by computer. I have not looked into it yet because I have not added satelite yet. I think that there is a web site for the universal remote manufacturer. That you answer questions regarding device maker, model, features etc.
That at the end of device definition you download, via cable connection, the code to your remote. I have not witnessed it myself so it is only what I hear at this time.
