2003 Allure - Need to replace carpet on drivers side

Yahoo Message Number: 112907
2003 Allure carpet on drivers side is looking rough. What are options on updating it? New carpets? Mats?
It seems like the carpet is difficult to keep clean. It also seems real pricey to replace.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Our 04 Allure, and most of the CC's of that era, all seemed to have lighter color carpets. (Made the interior look roomier, and warmer, was what the VP of Interior Design would share.). It is probably my DW's remains pet peeve about out coach, the constant need of cleaning the carpets...

Luckily, they good quality carpets, and usually clean well.

OP - You said 'The Driver's Side', so I suspect you mean the small amount in front of the Driver's seat?

We do have a matching piece of carpet (Actually, we repurposed the two stair well pieces of matching carpet for this.) in front of the pedals. My wife stuck some sort of sticky carpet runner stuff under them, and it does not move much. I'd had a concern of it shifting while driving, and interfering with pedal operation. Has not been a problem.) We replaced the two stair well steps with cut to fit hunks of super dirt/moisture absorbing entry carpet mats. Does not show the dirt, and as needed in between shaking out outside, we'll toss them in a washing machine.

I've also seen a few owner's that had gone to auto stores and bought the rubber floor mats for an auto, and cut them on one edge to the space they needed to fill in front of the Driver's seat.

When we replace our carpet, we'll be going with engineered wood flooring. But the entry level tile (In our coach, this matches the heated tiles of the bath and kitchen area.), will be removed at that time, new darker color tiles will be installed their and across and under the Driver's Seat area. Will probably then have a rubber floor mat dual taped down in front of the pedals, as I like to kick my sandals off while driving.

So their are some ideas:)!

Replace entire entry with tile or use new high quality vinyl that looks like wood

LJ tells me that on my 2004 Allure, I cannot use laminate unless I am willing to live with the grooves that the slide runners will leave, quite visible, on the laminate. That CC carpet is one of the most dreadful colors (Soylent green) that I have ever seen in a coach, but he sez I have to replace it with carpet.

Since flooring is what I do- you can add hard surface on your main floor and slide. I give clients the cheap vinyl planks to place under the slide in case there is an issue with the slide impacting the main floor. Ernie Ekberg
