Front Seat Mounting

My wife and I are the proud new owners of a 1996 Allure. The front seats are pretty worn, so we're looking into options for replacement. Can anybody tell me what structure exists in the floor that the seats mount to? I can clearly see the four bolts coming through the flooring in the wheelwells, but I'm wondering if there is any additional structure sandwiched between. Is it just plywood? Or, is there additional steel in the area for reinforcement? Bottom line, I'm wondering if I'm wed to the existing mounting hole dimensions, or if I can just drill new mounting holes and add a reinforcement plate underneath the floor. If it matters, the build sheet shows it on the Dynomax chassis, versus the Gillig Chassis. It's a late 1995 build. I think we're one of the first dynomax coaches.

Lloyd..........For safety and insurance reasons you should be wary of changing any of the factory mounting provisions for a new seat. Check with your insurance agent to see if it would invoke a denial of benefits in case of a personal injury accident.

The seats are mounted on a platform that is secured to the base. You can remove the seats from the platform by removing the 4 half inch nuts, the electrical connection, and the cable release for the swivel mechanism. This way, you don't have to get under the coach . Ernie Ekberg
