How to turn on accessory driving lights 02 Affinity or Magna

Yahoo Message Number: 113858
Hey all,

I have a 2002 Affinity 42' w/ tag. On the lower part of front bumper/fascia there is a pair of fog lights and a pair of white/accessory lights. Both pairs are approx 4x6". I'm looking for the switch to turn on the pair of white accessory drive lights. I can turn the fogs on with a rocker switch to the left of the driver's switch (where all the other ext accessory lights-side, rear, fog etc turn on) but can't find the switch for the accessory drive lights. Help? ;)

Have you tried pulling the headlight switch OUTWARD from the dash, when the headlights are on?

Keith,

My '00 Affinity has a rocker switch for the 'Driving Lights' right next to the rocker for the 'Fog Lights' on the left side switch panel like you described. Note that my fog lights will illuminate any time the rocker switch is turned on. My driving lights will only illuminate when the headlights are on, AND the high-beams mode is enabled by pressing the high-beam switch on the floor. Basically they are designed and wired to supplement high-beam operation, not low-beam operation.

Things could be different between our coaches, but maybe that's worth $.02. Maybe yours come on automatically when you switch to high-beam mode (total guess with no basis)?

I think we are essentially set up the same. Fogs work with rocker independent of high beams. Accessory drive lights require rocker turned on and headlights in high beam mode to turn on....

Thx

See message 40637.  Perhaps a previous owner made the same modification that I did.

"High Beams and Fog "ON" turns on the driving lamps,
Low Beams and Fog turns "ON" the Fog lamps. This way I didn't need an
extra dash switch.""

Found in manual at 2.10 (go figure).........FYI, of the 9 rocker switches behind tranny selector panel, the forward far left switch controls the white accessory drive lights. When this switch is turned on, the accessory drive lights come on and off with high beams (only on when high beams are on).

For those interested, RIGID is now making 6" rectangular LED fog and drive lights that are SAE approved for on highway use ....they won't fill existing holes in bumper fascia completely but will be a lot better lighting than the Per-lux 600-Ps mine came with......

safe travels,
