Country Coach Service and Parts People In Alaska

Yahoo Message Number: 114112
Planning a trip to Alaska this summer. I would appreciate any information this group has about people or businesses in the State or Yukon Territory that could work on or help with a Country Coach. I have a 2007 Intrigue # 12108. Thank you, Jeff

Good luck on that one. I needed work done on the clock spring and the Freightliner repair facility wanted to know what that was. That was in Anchorage. The White dealer has air filters if you need them other than that sorry can't help.

Well here is one place I can recommend, for general RV help. Below is a cut & paste from our 2014 Alaska Trip Journal:

"Turns out the flaky park generator had fried our Hughes Auto-former, which helps regulate uneven electrical currents. That was the burning smell, the pop we heard, and the dead fridge. Thank goodness it's housed in its own metal case and didn't fry anything else. $600 down the drain, and now only one safeguard between bad electricity and the coach. Decided to head backward to the larger town of Fort St. John. A nice lady, at the Rotary Club we called in Fort St. John, recommended the Fort Ford dealership, and the people could not have been nicer. They immediately got their top tech, Clint, to look at the fridge. He figured out a full restart on it and got it working like new again! It was done in about 30 minutes and the cost was minimal! Clint is DA-MAN!"

Our pop-up emergency was supported buy Fort Ford (They sell Travel Trailer's, and service them too.). When we called, they were booking out two-three weeks for appointments. The Service Manager said to come on in, and they'd try to at least squeeze a diagnostic in, so that if they did need to order parts for then then Norcold, we could get that going. (3-4 day turn around on expedited shipping.). Could not have been more pleased with how they, Clint, took care of us:)!

=====

All that being said. What is it you are looking to have taken care of? Can you do it before you head out? We did our advance maintenance before leaving, and round tripped it back to San Diego with the only repair needed being a windshield chip, the Norcold above, and a replacement windshield for our CRV in Fairbanks. (Not from the road, but from a pole being knocked down into our car in an RV Park:)!) The distance traveled should not warrant service of chassis? Or at least not for us.

We took a few spare parts, but no more so then we would have for normal lower 48 state traveling:)!

Best to you,
Smitty
