Fuel Shut Off Solenoid wiring 1995 Magna w Cummins

Yahoo Message Number: 115391
Hello,

I need some help with the Fuel Shutdown Solenoid (FSS) wiring for replacement.

The engine is a 6C8.3L Cummins mechanical In a 95 Magna.

Most FSS come with three wire colors at their connector. White, Red, Black.

On my rig, one of those wires (white) is split into two leads.

Both wires have been connected for several years to a wire that eventually ends at the fuel shutdown relay in the engine compartment and labeled white wire G81A. (Confirmed via continuity test. G=Gillig).

I do not know why these wires are split except to incorporate the Relay.

All of the above info agrees with my CC ignition circuit schematic.

However, my FSS uses the White wire for the FSS Pull (ignition) coil not the Hold (Run) coil.

It would seem that the Red FSS (Hold or Run) wire should be connected to the Relay instead of the White FSS wire. (Function verified during bench test of three old FSS)

Does anyone have experience changing and wiring the Fuel ShutDown Solenoid on a similar rig and have info on the proper split wire color?
