2005 Cat C9 overheat issues on a grade

We have a 2005 Allure with a Cat C9. We have recently replaced the radiator and the transmission within the last year. We over heated a few times on the 395 going up a grade. hawthorn caterpillar has found the CAC is leaking and not properly cooling the turbo and is injecting that hot air in the engine. Has anyone had a similar problem. Thank you, AO

I too have a 2005 Allure/C9 and had Kevin Waite replace both the radiator and the CAC while I was up in Oregon. I did this as a preventative measure because CC's of this vintage have a history of these rad/CAC issues with age. When we pulled them, we found that they were both leaking and would have failed shortly. PM of this type is expensive, but cheaper than an engine or transmission.

Hi John,

It's the Charge Air Cooler that is attached to the radiator. It keeps the turbo cooled
