Such thing as ghosts?

You may remember my thread below (pasted for reference.)

On Friday went to take her down to Premiere for the Intellitec issues. Threw the salesman switch on and sure enough every dang light (in and out) as well as every zone not only went ON, but they went on, off, flickered and pretty much crazy.

Walked thru coach and turned every item off at each Intellitec. All was dark for a minute and then everything went bananas again. Threw the salesman switch off and drove down there...

So on to Premier in Junction City.

Their Intellitec expert CANNOT get the light issue to replicate the problem i have been having. All operates 100% normal both plugged and and dry. Go figure!

Asked my few neighbors near my house & shop. Nobody has installed a ton of florescent and a grow farm (yes marijuana is legal in Oregon), nobody is running a shortwave or ham radio, and nobody has installed some high output welder. So maybe ruling out this concept of Electronic Noise

The former owner died. (we dont know if in/not in the coach). Could a ghost be the real issue here?

Original Post: Just had a nice chat with Mark (customer tech support at Intellitec.). Explained my intermittent issues with interior lights/Intellitec pad occasionally coming on when parked here at the home shop (30a shore power.)

Last week had electrical inspection on my shop panel and 30a outlet. Everything came up roses. Issue must be isolated to coach.

Mark asked if there were any fluorescent lights in the coach. His words "fluorescent lights make Intellitec lights go nutty."

He said the majority of the time we have these light in/off problems it is due to electric noise which apparently fluorescents do. He said the issue isn't simply removing and fluorescent bulbs but rather it's the ballast that puts out the noise causing the Intellitec to "go nutty"

Remove the ballast controlled light in favor of non-fluorescent or simply remove the fuse controlling any fluorescent light.

Did the shop plug you into 30A? If it does not happen on battery, 50A, or the generator have the tech test using a 30A supply.

I'll ask them to. Not sure if that will matter since I have the light issue when dry camping here at the house also.

Also, ask Jim Cooley to put down his battery powered mug cooler (Has to keep the brew cool somehow, as he's walking around talking to customers!) - possible interference source:)!

(And those of you who know Jim, understand that this was a good natured jab. The reality, is the brew is not in the mug long enough to worry about it becoming too warm...).

Our older era Allure does not have the same lighting, sometimes KISS is a blessing. But will follow, as know many coach owners with the same lighting systems.

Good luck, and best,

Anything is possible!! Google how to do a spirit cleanse. Involves burning sage, opening windows and asking spirit to leave. We had a rental property with an issue and did that, and haven't had any more issues out of the property.

So the verdict? No verdict.

Premiere fully unable to replicate and make lights go on by themselves. Picked up coach Friday. Went to an RV park for the weekend and never had a light/turning on problem. Came home and plugged in and haven't had a problem either.

Awfully odd.

Just to be safe I think having someone smudge for spirits might be the final idea.

Another way of sprit cleansing, is to go to your cabinets and remove all of your good scotch. PM me, and I'll send you the address to send those spirits too...

Sporadic problems are sometimes the hardest to track down. In our previous coach, the might T28 Bounder on the F53 chassis (Miss that coach, still wish I'd kept as our toad.) we had an intermittent problem starting the coach. Key in ignition, and turn it to start the engine, and nothing. Not even a draw down on the battery. Chased the normal starter related problems, checked the ignition key, made sure the chassis battery terminals as well as main chassis grounds were all clean. But still about once or twice a month, no start. But, we would wait a bit, and would try it again a big later - and it always seemed to start.

Flash forward about 6 months or so, and I added a second battery to just power an amp I was installing as part of our OTR stereo upgrade. Ran a dedicated cable to where the fuse block, to power the amp. While wiring this in, I noted what looked to be a bad solder point on the back of the fuse block - ignition fuse was in that slot. Hit it with my soldering tip, added a dash more solder - and never a problem starting the coach again.

So finding phantom, ghosts, sporadic problems - can be challenging...

Hope your problem is solved for good!!! (The only safe way, is to rid the coach of spirits, or at least - scotch!),
