Suddenly there is no power to the ship pad for my transmission, and consequently, unable to start the engine.

I had the same experience on July 4 and the fix was a 10 amp fuse in the transmission relay box located in the bay under the drivers seat.
The fuse was not blown, it had been incorrectly installed by whoever last sealed up the box. Worked fine since Nov 2004 then jiggled loose and killed the transmission and prevented the engine from starting.

On top of the transmission, there is a big electrical plug in a rubber boot. I have heard of others getting some water in there, causing connection problem with the brain.
