A bedtime story.

Yahoo Message Number: 115757
My wife and I were in bed reading when I decided to get up and turn on a window fan. Shortly after I got up we heard a sound like tearing wood. A second later the mattress and the whole mattress deck started moving. I thought something went wrong with the HWH slide mechanism causing the slide to close. A second later I realized the slide was not moving, just the bed. It moved about 9 inches and then stopped.
After some investigation I determined the struts that help raise the bed deck up so you gain access to all the stuff underneath had ripped the mounting of the non hinged portion of the deck loose. This is about a 12 inch portion of the deck at the head of the bed. It was only held in place by a few staples and glue. I guess over the years of driving on rough roads in Baja Mexico everything kind of worked loose and the struts were strong enough to move the whole platform about 9 inches or so.

As well built as these coaches are I think they could have used somemore structure to prevent this from happening. Needless to say it got the blood pressure up.
