Are you having problems with the steering or do you just think it's a good idea. CC's from that era are about the best driving coaches made without doing anything to them.

The Coach seems to wander and it doesn't seem which way. I have it aligned annually, and it doesn't seem to help. I know people have later models (not cc) they have "steering assist" and love it. I was thinking it would improve mine.

Wheel bearings loose , tie rod ends, drag link, steering u joints, brand of tires (load ratings). All need attention first before spending money on a bandaid

Tire pressures, I have noticed if pressure is off too high or low for the weight carried handling can be squirrely. Have you weighed recently? Checked the manufacturer's pressure table and set the pressure accordingly? While individual wheels is best axle weights are a good start.

Hi Glenn
I have a 2002 Intrigue.  When I bought the coach it had about 75K miles on it, there was lots of play in the steering and it wandered all over the road, which was blamed on alignment needs. Kaiser in Eugene aligned it and the situation was significantly better, but as I got used to driving it there still seemed like too much play in the system because it still wandered. I took it to Henderson's in Grants Pass and they assessed it. No loose/worn components were found in the system but they said the steering box felt tight. The adjustment on the box could not be loosened so they treated it with penetrating oil and suggested that Kaiser could adjust it once the oil did its work. While there I also learned that the steering stabilizers like you are looking at are not made to fit this chassis.  When I got a chance to take it back to Kaiser, they adjusted the steering box and we went for a ride. Again, an improvement was made, but again, as I drove the coach there was still about 4 inches of free play in the steering and I was sure it still wasn't right. I talked to Kaiser and took the coach back for another evaluation. They had it several days, did test drives and concluded it was as good as it could be made. In a last ditch effort to find someone who knew what to do, I took it to Country Coach in Junction City. They had it figured out in about 30 minutes. There is a device called a miter box in the steering system that the steering shaft attaches to. The output shaft from that box goes to the steering box Anyway, that box was worn and also the "U" joints in the steering shaft were worn. They had all the needed parts in stock and in about 2 hours I was driving home with a changed coach. It was a bit over $2k for the fix, but I wish I had gone there sooner.  Now I drive it comfortably with one hand. We were in Idaho recently, following the Clearwater River on highway 13 and my wife jokingly accused me of "playing in the corners". It's nice to have that level of comfort, finally. If any of this sounds like what you are experiencing, be sure whoever is working on you coach looks at all of the system including the shaft up to the steering wheel. If your near Junction City, Eric at Country Coach would be the person to talk to.

Yes I totally agree with you regarding Eric. There was a post this previous week regarding CC no longer having access to the alignment shop which is where they build the Winnie coach. I was trying to get to CC to talk to the service manager however, I ran out of time. Until I hear that CC can do the alignments, I am taking my business to Kaiser in Eugene
