Amana Fridge Replacement

Yahoo Message Number: 116131
Our Amana side-by-side fridge is getting tired. Every time we use the coach it seems we have to turn the fridge level up to get decent cooling. We periodically clean (as best we can with the limited access) the coils on the bottom of the fridge but it does not seem to help. So, we are pondering proactive replacement after our current trip. Both DW and I hate side-by-side fridges anyway so we would try to replace with a french door bottom freezer fridge.

Curious if anyone has replaced the Amana 22 cu ft and, if so, what did you find that fit the space? We are not fond of Samsung fridges since we had nothing but problems with one in the stick home.....Lowe's did a buy back on it.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Gary, just a curious question, did you shut off the fridge when the coach was not in use? Bob 06 Intrigue 12047

Bob, normally we don't. I have electric at my storage facility so I usually leave it on so it will be ready when we travel.

Take a look at Bosch. A little pricey but real nice. I helped Eric Olstrom put one in. I think
They have one that will fit with minimal wood work.

The only one I could get to fit was the side by side, the separate freezer made the refrigerator to tall.
I ended up with a Kenmore # 51783, fit right in without any modifications.
Remove the doors, way easier to move around and install.
