Television Replacement

Yahoo Message Number: 116161
Back in July I asked the group about getting into the Front TV enclosure.
TRIED WHAT WAS SUGGESTED from the group, but

Nothing I tried helped in me getting to the area I needed.
So, I took it into my Local RV Repair I trust and the TV is Broken
And needs to be replaced.

So, I have a 2007 Allure, #31495 and need to replace the Front TV.
Has anybody with a 07 Allure changed their TV out?
My production sheet says it was a 37" LCD TV.
I would need the model # so I can research the size/Dimensions for a replacement.

I tried to get to the CC groups conversations. But after about 15 mins of not getting there or anywhere to
Look for others who have replaced their TV, I gave up.

Thanks for any help.

I had a box tv and had to have new frame made to replace it with a flat screen tv. Take the measurements of the one you have now and go to Best Buy and they give you the models to match.

I have an 07 Allure as well which was likely on the line the same time as yours. I replaced the TV a few years ago with a 47" Panasonic TC-L47-ET5. The TV was sitting around our house so I decided to put it in the motorhome. That particular size of TV I don't believe is made any more by any of the manufacturers. My original plan was to mount and secure the TV without a custom cabinet being built. And to keep things simple I also wanted to mount the new TV more or less flat onto the existing woodwork. I was somewhat successful with that as all I needed to do, other than installing a TV mount, was to cut/trim the inner side of the woodwork.

The TV that I installed is maybe 6-7 years old and compared to new energy efficient TVs it's a power hog, if you want to install a TV larger than your 37" and you do some dry camping then you'll want to do some homework in that department.

You may also want look around a bit on the CC pages on

That's what I'm think on doing.

What I forgot to say on the original post was the 37" TV I have now
Has front facing speakers. Almost all of the TV's being produced now
Have rear facing speakers and my repair person said that since they
Face to the rear the sound would not be great. Now I have surround
Sound in the coach so I'm hoping I can plug into that and not worry
About which way the speakers face. It's just something else I have to
Worry about for pre removal and replacement.

Thanks for your reply.

A 32" flat. Screen worked perfectly for me up front, but unless you buy a model with forward facing speakers you should plan on installing a sound bar. Though my rear TV is still working I bought a 28" while they were still available for the bed room. TWInsall 2004 Intrigue 42' 11731

Tom, I have a 2006 Magna. I check a lot of TVs. I had a 36in in front and figured I could get a 49in in there and I did with a little altering on the top of the opening. I cut about 5in out of the top molding. The real bugger was getting the old TV out and building a frame work to hold it in place, just takes a little engineering, or southern ingenuity as we call in Texas. I tied it into my ceiling speakers. Step out and get it as big as you can. When we went fulltime I had to give up my 70in at the house, in the coach the 49in looks as good to me as 70in did in the house. You can do it.

I put a 46 in Samsung in my 2006 Allure. Needed to make a new face frame but the cabinet did not need to be modified.
I had the 37 in tv also.

I have a 2005 Inspire. Replaced the original tv with a 43" diagonal Vizio. I also ran new cables from the rear of the tv to the audio cabinet. I filled all jacks USB, HDMI, coaxial etc. What ever is on the tv has a new line stretched to the audio cabinet. I never want to have to remove tv to replace a cable. I also had a cabinet maker make a box that matches the size of a new sound bar. It is mounted under the tv cabinet. It does not effect vision through the front window. I took the original frame off of the tv cabinet, and the cabinet maker resized the opening to fit the new tv. End product looks great. We were able to match the original color of the old cabinets.
