Splendide issue

Yahoo Message Number: 116746
Does anyone have experience with Splendide washer/dryer combos? We can't get our to start a cycle. It has been a little fickle for the past couple of months but today would not start at all. Tried unplugging it and then plugging it back in after a minute or so. Wondering if it is a door latch issue. Have a message in to Kevin W. but he is probably out enjoying the holiday weekend. Thanks in advance!

Ours started acting up right before it completely died. Splendide does have a support page on their website which has some troubleshooting tips. http://splendide.com/support.htm We decided not to repair it because it was the control board which is not cheap even if they make them anymore. We just decided to remove the unit and utilize the space for storage. I do want a stackable washer dryer tho.
If it's not coming on at all, maybe not getting power, check breakers and reset GFI outlets??

More than happy to help out........ I'm 95% certain that the door lock/latch switch is your problem.. I just replaced mine in my 2006 Magna. Your contact for parts is Westland Sales (1-800-356-0766). Have your model number and serial number ready to identify which unit you have since the new switches need to match your old series. Cost, as I remember, is less than $100.00 including shipping.
The service tech there will tell you that it is very "testy" to install the new one from the from of the machine, through the door, and that the rubber boot can be easily damaged. Probably true, but with any mechanical ability you should be able to do it yourself. A second option is to remove the machine and access the switch from the top. However, if your machine is like mine and set in an elevated cabinet, very difficult to do, especially in a confined space and without help.

There are several U-tube sites that show how the switch is removed through the door front. These will allow you to see what you are looking for when you start the install. The "testiest" part is removing the outer spring/wire loop assembly without damaging the rubber boot (Apparently this boot is no longer available so be very careful!). You'll need a wire hook to find the short spring (usually between the 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock position). Hook the spring only, pull out to access the wire loop...... you'll see what I mean when you get to this position. I was able to "catch" the spring with a small needle-nosed pliers.

Hope this helps! If you need more definitive advice, please contact me off-group and I will give you additional install advice...... and a way to cripple through until you get the new switch installed.
