Disable HWH air leveling

Re: Disable HWH air leveling
If you ground wire #21 it will prevent the HWH system from realizing that the parking brake has been released. You can put to coach to any height, ground wire #21, and the HWH will not automatically make any height adjustments. This includes going to ride height when the parking brake is released and the transmission is shifted out of neutral.
If the attached picture does not appear, let me know and I'll try a different way to post it. I seem to have problems getting pictures on to this board.

Thanks Dave... Your picture is great. When you ground out that wire, is it just the solenoid that stops sending the signal to the HWH brain or are other circuits also affected? My wire diagram for #21 has the voice processor, air leveler brain, FRB dash alarm term strip and slide out room pump relay. I note #68 is the power from ignition FRB fuse to the air leveler brain but I don't seem to be able to locate the wire in Bay 1DS. Anyway Your photo suggests you have had to do this on your Affinity. Our coaches must have been on the line at the same time as their numbers are only 9 apart. Are you near Olympia? We are on Fox Island.

Thanks Dave... The picture shows the location well.
since there are several other circuits associated with this wire according to my wire list, when you did this did the voice processor, dash alarm or any other system become disabled to your knowledge? Or is it just the brake solenoid that gets disabled? My wire list shows #68 as power to the HWH brain from ignition Front Run Board but I have not been able to find the wire in Bay 1 DS. Your coach was only 9 units after mine, so it was on the line at the same time in 2001/2.

Jerre,

We're in Sequim. As it turned out we got the ride height valve repaired very close to where our coaches were built in Junction City at Premier RV Of Oregon.

I responded to your post about alarms etc. but don't see it yet in the thread.

Basically, no, there were no alarms or voice notifications after the initial start up. If you decide to drive the coach over the road with wire #21 grounded, you should "level" it by adjusting ride height to give 6"-7" of clearance between the tops of the tires and the inside of the wheel well on all four corners. This is because the auto leveling is not functional.

Those 3 air pressure actuated switches in the picture are in the front run bay below the driver's seat. I don't recall running into wire #68.

I don't recall that there were any alarms / notifications either visual or audible. We drove the coach this way 2,000 plus miles for a number of days. One of our ride height control valves went out and we had to mesh family functions with finding a place to get it repaired.

If you do drive it over the road you should "level" the coach by adjusting the height of each corner to give 6"-7" clearance between the top of the tires and the inside of the wheel wells. That may not be "level" if you're parked on a surface that is not level.

Dave Does your system also have a white wire from the solenoid to the HWH slide pump mechanism? My system looks like this was spliced/added, not factory.

Dave Did you find this solution by yourself or were you directed to the solution by higher powers? Necessity IS the mother of invention!

Kevin Waite's sidekick, Butch, clued me in to this work around.
Don't know about any other wires associated with this part of the HWH system.
