Hurricane Heater Parts

This is really just a "stick this number in your notes" post.

Last night my hurricane started giving me this loud screech. Outside with flashlight and a screwdriver I discovered it coming from fan in Hurricane Heater. After pulling it apart and applying a little lubricant to shaft of motor I got it to quiet down and continue working. Today, with some telephone research, I was directed to ITR in Vancouver, WA. Number is 360-993-4877. If you know your part number, just email order to them at orders@... with part number and shipping method. They will call for credit card info.
BTW...little motor, fan and bracket was $320 plus shipping. Might be a considerable amount cheaper if you can cross reference motor and order elsewhere but in a pinch, these guys are a trip saver!

I now have a new motor assembly being overnighted to the park we are staying at this week.

If you have a Hurricane Heater this is a great number to keep on hand.

I usually attend one of the FMCA conventions and have ITR do annual maintenance on my Hurricane. About 3 years ago I had them do the 5 year maintenance and they discovered a cracked burner tube and replaced it.

I was told to run the furnace at least once a month. When I protested that running a furnace when it is 95 degrees outside isn't something I ever plan on they said to just run the furnace through one cycle. Don't need to turn on the heat exchangers. Oil burning appliances need to be exercised.
