Emergency stop switch reset?

Yahoo Message Number: 118111
I have an 06 intrigue 530 with the C-13 Cat engine. Have not had it long, it runs fine and have had no trouble with it. After having the engine running for an hour or so while dumping and refilling tanks, when parked the engine would not shutoff. Turned the key off to no effect. Finally shut it down with the emergency shutoff in the engine compartment. Now it will not restart. The ignition switch is fine.

After Googling this problem, most suggest a faulty fuel solenoid. A local mechanic said that he didn't think an 06 C-13 has a fuel solenoid, but thought the emergency stop switch might need to be reset.

Anyone experience this issue? Is there away to reset this switch? Pulling down on the button had no effect... any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Have you tried to Pull Out and the Push In and repeat - stopping with the Pull Out - of the Emergency Switch? If not, would take only a few minutes to try this:)!

Best of luck to you,

Thanks, but there are no such rocker switches on the 02 Intrigue. I wonder if unplugging and reconnecting the cables to the HWH Leveling panel would be equivalent to pushing an HWH Reset switch.

When my HWH doesn't want to work correctly or come on at all, I do one or both of the following.
This usually happens after the coach has been sitting awhile.

1. I completely shut down all systems and make sure it's not plugged in to electricity. Wait about 1 minute
Turn everything back on and start the coach and make sure the HWH is working.

If that fails, this is what I do next.

2. I unscrew the HWH panel from the dash and unplug it from the system, wait about 1 minute
And plug it back in.

That usually makes the system come back on and work.

Possible you have a faulty ignition solenoid. On my 2000 Magna, that solenoid is on the board with the fuse panel in the front run bay under the driver's seat. My first one failed and the coach would not start. The second one failed by not shutting off when the ignition key was turned off and the engine would not shut down.

If your coach is wired in a similar manner, find the fuse board and solenoid. Look at the lights beside the fuses with the ignition key in the off position and you should see a group of fuse lights not lit. Turn on the ignition key and see if those previous 'off' lights are now on. If so, then the solenoid is opperating properly. If not, with the key on, use a jumper and carefully and briefly connect the two large terminals on the ignition solenoid. If the 'off' lights flash on then the solenoid is not connecting properly. If you do get the lights to flash, try checking the ground connection of the small terminal of the solenoid to make sure you have a good ground. You can also check the voltage on the other small terminal to see if there is 12 volts present. If none of this helps then the solenoid is bad. If it is a bad solenoid I would suggest a Cole-Hersee 24213 solenoid as a replacement. Expect to spend about $45 for the solenoid.

Thank you so much for the info! My symptoms sound very much like yours. I will do as you suggest.

Thanks Smitty, I will try that. It seems like that shut off button is spring loaded, but I will check it again.
