HWH Slide-Out Fluid Level Check

2002 Intrigue 36-foot with 2 HWH slides. What is the correct slide
positioning for checking the hydraulic fluid level? I have notes from the
past that say Bedroom slide out and Living Room slide in, and then another
set of notes that say exactly the opposite. Does anyone know for sure? What
is the recommended hydraulic fluid? And how full when topping off?
Have lightly leaking hydraulic hoses or fittings in the right front bay
(above the propane tank) and looking for a well recommended HWH service
facility in the southern California area (Huntington Beach).

All Slides IN, please. When extended, the cydraulic cylinders are filled with fluid and the reservoir is drawn down. When retracted, excess fluid return to the reservoir. If the reservoir was filled with either or both slides extended, you run the risk of overfill and a nasty hydraulic fluid leak .

ours, 2006 affinity, is checked with both slides on one side extended and both on the other retracted, will have to check my notes......that is straight from HWH.

Our 2002 Allure 36' has two slides. The cylinders for the bedroom slide are retracted when the slide is IN. The cylinders for the living room slide are retracted when the slide is OUT. So check fluid with bedroom slide retracted and living room slide extended.

I agree with Luther, my 06 Intrigue is the same, driver side slides in, passenger side slides out per the HWH manual and the owners manual

Payne is correct!

Galley slide extended (OUT), bedroom slide retracted (IN) for our 2002 36' Allure. This has been verified several time with both HWH and CC tech support. Earlier and later year models are not necessarily the same -- the mechanisms have changed from year to year to year and model to model.

Fill levels are marked on the hydraulic fluid reservoir dipstick attached to the breather/fill cap. A thin 19mm open end wrench may be helpful if the threaded breather/fill cap won't come loose.

Thanks everyone for your responses as to the positioning of the Living Room slide and the Bedroom slide for checking the hydraulic fluid level. There were lots of replies with a lot of conflicting answers. The answers from the 2002 Allure were the most consistent (Bedroom in, Living Room out). But of course those were 2002 Allures and mine is a 2002 Intrigue ... probably the same since the models were close. I knew that one slide pushed and the other pulled, it's just which is which.
The owners manual for my coach only refers to the positioning of "the slide" which is singular and not plural, so that also left me confused.
I did place a call to HWH tech support 3 weeks ago and I just called them again and they confirmed that my support call is still in the queue (after 3 weeks!) and they will be calling me back any day now. Sounds like they could use a few more employees.
Does anyone know if we can still call Country Coach tech support (Winnebago) in Junction City or have they written us off?
