Wacko A/C Silencer

I have installed the Wacko A/C silencer kit on my front Dometic Penguin. It is still nice and cool in Santa Fe so the A/C may be used later this afternoon. As soon as I have a result, I'll report it.

The install was so simple there was no need to take pictures.

I can now report on the Wacko results. I say it is much quieter. What I say doesn't matter.

Jan says it is 70% quieter and she is happy. We can hear each other and the TV. She can use the phone without leaving the room. That is what matters.

It's white. We may paint it to match the ceiling.

Installed one on the front AC last week. 25-40% reduction in noise give or take. Just ordered a 2nd one for BDR AC. You lose the direct cool function from original cover but I rarely used those vents and the noise reduction is worth it IMHO.

I also installed the wacko unit in my 2003 intrigue and we are also very happy with it.
It is at 50% quiter than the older unit. We are going to wait until we head to Southern California when we are in hotter weather give further evaluation. If good we will install on in the bedroom. Certainly happy with noise reduction. Will keep everyone informed.

Cool, and quiet, beans!!!

I was surprised that they did not come out with both a white and beige option. But I suppose taking the old grill in and matching it to a paint color will not be too hard...

We plan on doing the front AC (We have 2.) when we're done with this years travels. And so far we have not run our AC, other then to exercise them, here on the Oregon coast this year...

Appreciate all of you that have installed the kit, sharing your perspectives.

Best to all,
