Replacing the toilet?

Greetings, gents and ladies.

We came here since the original toilet in our 1999 died so we came here looking for a replacement/piece of advice. What toilet is used in your more recent CC model?

We are having problems with our Thetford (now Dometic) leaking. Have replaced the seals and still get a leak. According to a Dometic rep, they are phasing out the old 510 line and are replacing it with a 310 line. Still a porcelain elongated bowl but you can get it in ivory and white only. It doesn't require disassembly to replace the gasket, it can be done from the top or the bowl. Cost at the Quartzsite show was in the 300 to 350 range, I don't remember. It is bolted to the floor with only two bolts. They have parts to retrofit to the older style of thunder mug.

Thanks for the warning, Don. We've been thinking about replacing ours with 310 but our friends told us about leakages as well. Also at first they got one with a pedal and it broke quite fast - but that's another story.
From what we found I believe leakages are unavoidable (though we haven't had any problems with the original toilet until it broke).  So as another option we are considering Sealand 510. Looks like it gets more positive feedback and we have an opportunity to get one on our way, but it's still Dometic.

The original toilet in my 2000 Magna was replaced with a Sealand 510 before I acquired the coach.  I've replace the valve when it leaked and the seal below the flapper ball once.

Talked to a Dometic rep in Quatrtzsite about the expense of 510 parts (I have a 510+). The seal I replaced went from 50 bucks to 67 in little over a year. He said that Dometic is getting rid of the 510 and pushing the 3xx series because it is  simpler to maintain. The ball valve seal can be replaced without removing the toilet. The 310 series is also cheaper than the 510. The 3xx series elongated bowl is the 320 series.
Our '02 Intrigue came with the 510+ and has been pretty reliable. I did have to replace the spring cartridge that returns the pedal to the closed position twice. Normal parts house wants 40 bucks for it but you can find them at Amazon for about 22. It an easy replacement, takes about 20 minutes and you don't have to disconnect the water.
