Wires wrapped around steering column broke

I have a 2002 CC Magna. After I bought it, several things did not work on the smart wheel. I took it to a well known truck repair shop. They took the steering column apart and replaced a clock spring.  Friday, the owner of an RV repair place moved my RV from front-in to back-in. Apparently the wheel was turned so sharp, wires got wrapped around the steering column and snapped. I did not know this until I pulled forward and the steering wheel felt locked. RV service Mgr. told me to rev up engine and try again. It worked, but now I have no turn signals, flashers, or power to the HWH pad.  Took it back to original smart wheel repair shop. They called and said wires were wrapped around column and several were broken. HAS ANYONE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM, OR HEARD OF THIS?????

Have not had it happen, but the clock spring replacement instructions are pretty clear to route/zip-tie the wire loom in a specific way.  I agree to take it back to clock spring installer.

So was it the clockspring that had been overwound, or the wires routing from the clockspring to the Colum had been damaged? Normally one important step when replacing the clockspring is to ensure that Clockspring itself is centered. This normally comes centered from the manufacturer with a pin locking it into center,  but can easily get turned one or two rotations in either direction during assy , if this happens, and the clockspring is installed "out of center" then when you turn the steering wheel, you can stretch and snap the clockspring flat cable, it will also feel like the steering wheel is binding. From what you have described, I would suggest that they installed the clockspring out of center. If this was the case, you, they will need to replace it again.
