Onan 8.0 Quiet Diesel

Yahoo Message Number: 8939
While at the Albuquerque FMCA rally, my genset developed a problem of cutting out ( the engine actually bogs down and stops) as soon as a significant load is added. The first time it did it I had pulled the batteries way down, so I thought this was possibly the cause. After the batteries showed full charge it seemed to work properly, but on the way home from the rally we stopped to eat and the problem recurred with batteries at full charge. As soon as we turned on a toaster oven, the engine bogged down. The genset has about 375 hours on it and got all new filters and oil change at 311 hours.
I've got a hunch the problem may be in the Trace settings, but I have the shutdown and startup times both set at 0:00.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think it sounds like your govenor is not responding properly. It needs to open up more giving it more power. Check this out.
