Fuel Filters

Hi All,

I have a 2003 Allure with a cumins 370 ISL.    I am having fuel issues, so I first want to start with the right FS.  I have the 2 filters in the end cabinet,  one is is the 1st filter, and the other is the 2nd filter.

I contacted Cummins, they only recommend for the 2nd filter.  The first Filter was an add on by Country Coach, which they recumbent to keep it, but have no information on it.

As you know Country Coach/ Winnebago closed its doors, and we have no support.

So my 2nd filter that was installed by prior owner or mechanic was a 2 Micron, so that has been replace per cummins recommendation
Looking into my CC owners manuals for information on 1st filter,  the only recommendation by country coach is a 10 Micron FS,  no part number.  My perveouse 1st filter was a 10 micron, with a clear reusable bowl on the bottom.

Is this the right filter?

Thanks
Bob

Yes Bob. That is the correct filter. Should be a 10 micron fuel/water separater as the primary and a 2 micron filter as secondary.

Hi George,
Thank you for your input.  Man this gets more and more confusing, Cummins who supplies the 2nd filter, says not to use the 2 micro,  that they call for a 10 micron.
Do you have a 370 ISL?

I have a 2002 Intrigue with the 370 ISL Cummins. I replace both fuel filters with each servicing. The two filters that I have used since 2004 when I acquired the coach are FleetGuard FS-1242 (20 micron) and FS-1022 (10 micron).

Hey Steve,  Thanks for the reply, that is interesting.  I might try that setup down the road..  Is yours a 40',  I did find in my  county coach manuals, 2003 Allure 40, and intrigue 40'  use 10 Micron.    I do not know if CC changed the first filter for larger coaches.  But either way,  If you have a 10 Micron filter in line, what ever in the fuel that shouldn't pass,  won't..

Thanks for the tip
