Replacing Cracked Headlamp Unit.

My headlamp apparently got hit by a rock (IMHO) and I now have a crack that would allow water to enter the front of the lens.
So, I need to replace the whole unit. I know there is a # on the lens to id it for repair/exchange or any other repair.  What should this number appear to be, #'s and letters, #'s only.  Just looking for a little info before my research into this matter.
