Re: Coach Batteries

I am no expert in battery management but I can offer my experience recently with a cold weather stay in Kentucky and Tennessee at 19°. We overnighted at Bass Pro Shops and we're very conservative with our battery consumption. We shut off breakers to microwave and audio/ video. Only used minimal lighting and 12 volt lights only. Fridge on gas. My two 8D batteries have approximately 144 amp/hrs. At 9pm batteries were only taking about 2 amp charge and battery monitor showed batteries fully charged and on float charge. Zone 1 and 2 set to furnace and thermostat on 66° zone 1 and 64° zone 2. In essence only real system running was hydro hot and whatever power consumption inveter draws at idle. Shut generator down and monitor showed 6 amp draw. Went to bed and awoke about 5am with batteries down to 11.9 volts. The 2 8D batteries just can not provide enough amp/hrs. Not much information, but all I got for now.
