Auto start on generator not working is it because batteries are too low?

We just purchased a 2003 country coach affinity. It came with the add-on surge protector that was wired in. Apparently the surge protector was past the warranty and started throwing error codes that we didn’t know anything about when we plugged  it into our home circuit for the first time it kicked in and disconnected all power to the coach for several days while we were away. So the batteries got very very low. We’ve identified the problem and talked  to an RV expert who told us we needed to periodically get the generator to automatically start and run to recharge the batteries  so they don’t get ruined. So we set the auto start to do that. But now The auto start is unable to start the generator without us manually pressing the battery booster. the new surge protector is in the mail and will arrive today but before we install it we were wondering if this is to be expected Given  the batteries have gotten  all the way down to at most 10 V

Probably not enough charge to start the generator. You might try running the engine to charge the batteries, or get the generator started with the booster switch and let the batteries charge. Be advised to carefully follow the programming instructions for your Auto Gen Start. On our RC7-GS, the first step is set the clock. If you have the same control panel and need the instructions, I have it digital and would be happy to send it to you. PM me.

My apologies for hijacking this topic, but I have been following this forum for a while and even responding to some messages on the forum with helpful suggestions, but I'm at a loss as to how to create and send a message with my own problem. When I create a message, there is a blank box at the top that needs to be filled in for who it goes to. What do I enter in the "To" box to create a new message? It seems that it should be pretty obvious.
