Transfer switch on the fritz??

Hello all. Just got back from a trip to TN / KY and spent a few nights during trip hanging out at Bass-Pro Shops in Memphis. Was going to pop some dinner in the convection oven ( normally just use batteries ) so fired up the generator. All seemed normal. Fired right up, idled off, transfer switch clicked, genny idled up as inverter/ charger changed to charge mode.  Batteries fully charged so genny only idled up for a few moments. Heated the convection up and while it was pre-heating, genny seemed to idle up pretty good as load increased. Still not nowhere near max load as no AC’s or entertainment systems on nor any 120volt lighting . Since it was warm, fired front AC up. Ran about 15 minutes and transfer switch started making weird god awful noises. Generator seemed to ramp all the way up to max load and started struggling to keep up and bogged down so much it died. Transfer switch then kicked out pretty loudly and inverter took back over. Today ran one AC unit for about an hour and same thing happened. Has anyone experienced a transfer switch failure? Is this some of the signs of a transfer switch failure? Any idea appreciated.

Just to add, 3-23-21 I replaced the ATS. I ran the generator and power transferred from AC site power to generator. I ran both AC's and all 120v lighting. I also ran the convection oven and ran into no issues with generator as described above. The problem now is, my previous ATS always made a slight buzzing noise. Now with the new ATS, the buzzing is downright loud and annoying. Does anyone have any issues with their ATS buzzing? Mine is brand new right out of the box.
