Engine temp not coming up over 143 degrees.

Good morning: Hey has anyone had  a Cummins 380 not coming up to
Heat (180) We had it Serviced and they told me they replaced the thermostat.
But the fan seems to be running all the time, is there a heat sensor somewhere
that controls the radiator fan?

Thermostat should keep engine at 180F even if fan running all the time - "new" thermostat may be sticking open.

Do you have an IR temperature gun?  Shoot the thermostat housing after engine is run at speed on the road for 15 minutes.  EDIT: engine will NOT come up to temperature idling in a parking spot.

To answer your fan question  - yes there is a coolant sensor that sends its signal to the Sauer Danfoss fan controller.  As well as a charge air temperature sensor and an Air Conditioner sensor, these all feed into the SD FDC (Fan Drive Controller).  But it cools the radiator pack, thermostat should keep hot coolant inside engine block until it reaches opening temperature of 180F.  Coolant sensor is on block.
