Fantastic Fan will not shut off

2002 Intrigue. Fantastic Fan will not shut off unless vent cover is completely closed or fuse is removed. Fan is controlled by a wall panel that has a left hand knob for Off, Manual, and Auto. Right hand knob adjusts the fan speed in the Manual position or the temperature in the Auto position.
It has worked well for years, but now the right knob will still adjust the fan speed, but will not turn it completely off. Is the problem in the rotary switch or the overhead fan unit? Dometic suggested redoing the fan with a wireless remote controller. Before doing something like that, any thoughts on repairing the existing system?
Thanks for any assistance. Steve B

Steve,

Back in the "old days" when Fantastic was a privately owned company, you could call their customer service and they would send out the necessary parts for repair at no cost. Today, it seems like Dometic wants to sell you a new coach.
We had a similar problem years ago and FF replaced the control and board. With Dometic in charge, it might be cheaper to buy a new fan, but I'm not sure how the parts interface without installing the whole darn thing.
