Fresh Water Tank Trouble

Good afternoon fellow Country Coach Persons.  I have a problem>  when i try to fill the fresh water tank the tank is empty but the water runs out underneath.  I think they are two drains underneath (one for draining and one to notify when full.  There is also a dashboard toggle switch labeled water drain.  No matter what position this switch is in the water continues to come out underneath.  The smallest drain underneath is about 1/2 in PVC and it looks like something was attached but was broken off this is where the water continues to come out.  Could the switch be bad or a solonode or capacitor.  I can get underneath to put a cut off valvue on the broken PVC if recommended????????  Do this could it cause problems elsewhere.????? thank you in advance for any ideas or help you would suggest.  Ken Weaver 843-373-4591 1987Country Coach Savannah 38FT

Just purchase a 1987 Vintage Country Coach in pristen condition.  Gonna travel this great USA again, so sad it will be alone this time.  First stop will be Veterians State Park Waycross, Ga and of course they have a golf course.  Ontheroadagain

I don't know about your specific model Ken but on my 1997 Magna that drain is controlled by a console switch that controls one of several 12V solenoids in the water compartment. There are also two mechanical valves in the water compartment for draining the water system. These valves and solenoids are hidden behind a small access door.

I would check the physical drain valves first and if that isn't the problem check the solenoids to see if they are stuck in the open/energized position. If they are open they will be warm/hot and have a slight vibration in the solenoid body.

I had the city water fill solenoid stick open on mine. It turns out the problem was related to the full sensor on the tank being corroded and not sending a signal to shut the solenoid valve. Essentially the solenoid was stuck open due to a constant signal. The short term solution was to disconnect the solenoid power at the solenoid until I was able to clean the tank sensor connections.
