Hot water heater won't stay lit

Atwood water heater problem
2002 Intrigue #11382. Water heater works OK on electric. But on propane, it tries to lite 3 times and quits. Of those 3 tries, it will usually lite once or twice but then goes out. Suggestions??? Thanks, Steve.

Once upon a time I had a similar problem, turned out to be a spider web in the burner tube.
It must be an air fuel mixture problem, either partially blocked gas or air.

Possibly circuit board problem. Don

Thanks for those replies. Hopefully it's as simple as spider web blockage or some other clutter.
Thanks, Steve

I would start by removing and re-installing all of the wire connections;  this also called exercising the connectors.  One other possibility not mentioned above is the flame sensor portion of the circuit may be faulty.  I really don't know if the igniter/flame sensor problem can be faulty but perhaps its position is not quite correct.  An Atwood tech told us at a seminar the probe should be about 1/8" from the burner and positioned about the 10 o'clock position.

If you decide it is a problem with the control board I recommend a Dinosaur board.  That's what I used to replace my original board.
