Refrig "gurgling"...normal?

Yahoo Message Number: 273
My new Intrigue has a refrig that periodically "gurgles." Is this a normal sound? We're only using it on the weekends right now, so the refrig is only on from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning (when we usually turn it off to travel.) No frost buildup or anything else. It gurgles even when the icemaker is off.

Lots of new things to learn...and this is just one more...Jan

Are you sure it is actually from the refer? Could be the Hurricane heat? We had similar sound, but found it came from the heater mounted below the refer when the coolant was low in the system. There was no such sound from the other heaters, only the one under the refer... we added the coolant and gurgling went away...
Also on a new Intrique...

Thanks...I'm pretty sure that it's the refrig, heater wasn't on, but shall pay closer attention to it this week. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Jan; You are really not doing yourself any favors by turning the refrigerator on and off all the time. You use a lot more energy by doing it that way and it also does not do the refrigerator any good to be on and off.
Leave it on and then when it needs defrosting doe that. If you have an icemaker the gurgling could come from that.

I don't think you understand...I'm not turning the refrig on and off.
We store it during the week, so only use it at this point on occasional weekends...i.e. we get to it Friday afternoon, so it is on (automatic mode so it will switch from propane to electric depending on whether we are hooked up or not) from then until Sunday afternoon when we return and it is turned off for the week.

The gurgle doesn't seem to be from just the freezer compartment...regular one too.
