Country Coach Service

Looking for opinions. I have only owned my new Intrigue less than four months and so far CC's response to my concerns have been---well, a bit limited. Sent them an e-mail over two weeks ago regarding three items; 1.) the Wineguard Omni-directional TV antenna is at best inadequate. All dealer techs, and even Wineguard agree. So what can be done about it and why is CC still puting it on new coaches? 2.) The windshield wipers appear to be of poor design---they lift in the wind and sometimes traverse the windshield horizonally instead of vertically. 3.) A simple question--which of four roof vents is the black tank. I need to replace the cap with a venturi type to prevent odor in the coach. No answer. So I sent another e-mail. No answer.
So I called, left a msg. Tech returned call, he found the e-mails in their computer, noted the issues and said he would call back. (This is a three week senerio). Didn't call back. I called and left another msg today. They returned call and said there was nothing they could do except send me a new antenna (Wineguard already did that with no improvement) and new wiper assemblies of the same design. As for the roof vent, they din't know which was the black tank and I should put venturis on all four. Today I asked where the speed control for the automatic awning is located so I can make an adjustment. They didn't know. Could be in one of several locations. I put the right amount of sugar and honey in my msgs and calls. So is this typical? Do other coach owners have the same experience and do others have the same questions? Are my questions unreasonable? Lyle Wetherholt, o4 Intrigue 11740

You don't mention which Intrigue. Ovation and 38' do it one way, 40' 4 slide another and so on. Call Larry Norris, Doug Beaudry, and lastly the Boss Doug Rutherford. They will get you an answer. Tom, 2004 Intrigue 11731, Ovation. If your near Tucson stop at Beaudry's and ask or call Chris Snyder, the factory Service supervisor.

This is excellent advice. One more thing...start being a sugar and honey Squeeky wheel. I've had several problems with my Inspire and the responses for most of them have been far more timely than the responses you have gotten. I would never wait more than 5 days for a response to an email. If I don't get a good response from the first person answering the phone, I call back or ask to speak to their supervisor. I haven't been forced to call Doug Beaudry or Doug Rutherford (whom I met when in was in JC for service), but would not stop until I get the answer I need. The list of problems I've had with my coach has topped 50 items and some things are going wrong again..such as the bedroom TV which has quit working again.

Good luck and don't give up.

Lyle,

My experience with the phone in techs has been good & timely, although they don't always have the right answer. Seems like there has been a lot of turn over and the newer techs do not seem as knowledgable. Doesn't sound like your questions are out of line. I prefer the phone over e-mail. If I have a question about a product added and not manufactured by CC I call directly to the company who made the product.

On the antenna I'd call Wineguard direct. Sounds to me like it may be the cabling issue. I'd check each connection point carefully and make sure it is cabled correctly. My Wineguard works great. One more thing to look at is the antenna booster. Yours may not be working.

Odors can come from any vent and I'd replace all the caps with the venturi type. Very inexpensive & seems to work good. Don't forget to check any secondary vents that have check valves inside the coach. My source of odor was a bad check valve inside.
As far as the wipers, I would have CC fix this problem--that is a safety issue. If they can't fix them have them replace them. Don't know why yours are not working properly as I have not had that issue on an older coach than yours.

Don't know where you live but I found that the 1700 mile trip to Juntion City was worth it for me as they seem to be better than any of the dealer techs in my area. Everyone that was in JC when I was there left satisfied.

Hope this is helpful...........
Steve

Lyle,

If you want to know which vent is the black tank just smell it. As for the awning go to an awning dealer or call the awning people, they will be able to answer that question better then CCI. CCI could never have enough tecks to answer questions about all the conponents on a coach. You need to go to the manufacturer of the item in question.

Sadly, it is typical.

When you are up to your A## in alligators it is difficult to remember why you are there....have you been out to Junction City? If you have then you will know of what I speak. But there are people there who can help, you just have to spend in inordinate amount of time trying to find that person. I found one on the phone yesterday who was able to help.
